Some behaviours are best addressed where they actually happen. In-home private sessions with Kelsy let you work on real-world challenges in your real-world environment.
Kelsy works exclusively with positive reinforcement. No fear, no force. Just a calm, structured approach that builds genuine confidence in your dog and makes the learned behaviours much more likely to stick once they're home.
The first session covers a full assessment of your dog's behaviours, your goals, and your home environment. Kelsy will put together a clear picture of where to start and what to work toward.
Ongoing sessions build on what was established in the consultation. A minimum of 2 sessions is required to see meaningful, lasting progress — consistency is everything in dog training.
A lifelong love of dogs,

Kelsy Lyons has cultivated a deep passion for dogs that spans her entire life—one that led her from training and competing in Flyball, while pursuing Obedience and Agility training, to managing a full retreat that now welcomes dogs of every temperament, from easy-going family companions to high-energy working dogs.
Her journey into professional training was built through years of hands-on experience. Volunteering with rescue dogs that required patience, confidence-building, and exposure to new environments, managing boarding facilities caring for dogs with a wide range of personalities and needs, and looking after police dogs during their stays at those facilities all contributed to a broad and practical understanding of canine behaviour.
In 2010, Kelsy attended The Good, the Bad, the Ugly, a canine behaviour seminar at the University of Guelph. The opportunity to learn from internationally recognized experts, combined with thousands of hours spent working directly with dogs, helped shape the thoughtful, experience-based approach she brings to every dog and owner she works with today.
Kelsy has also continued to expand her knowledge through ongoing professional education. She has completed multiple courses and earned certificates through Canine Principles, further strengthening her understanding of canine behaviour, welfare, and training.
At the heart of Kelsy’s journey were her two Border Collies, Sprint and Tye. They were far more than pets—they were her best friends, her teachers, and her inspiration. Through every stage of life, they deepened her understanding of dogs and the unique relationships we build with them. Much of what she brings to her work today is rooted in the lessons they taught her and the bond they shared.
