About The Job

Dogwood Lodge Pet Retreat (YARMOUTH) & Dogwood Acres Pet Resort (CARLETON) are currently seeking  full time employees to join our team.

The successful applicant must be punctual, hard working with a willing to learn. The job entails handling many different breeds and sizes of dogs. You must not have a fear of dogs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with various tasks in a demanding environment
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for our clients and dogs & cats
  • Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and dogs & cats
  • General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas, and common areas
  • Keeping our outdoor play areas clean at all times and regular water checks
  • Willingness to learn more regarding; dog boarding & daycare services, training services and basic grooming services knowledge
  • Required to learn about our retail section and provide strong customer service
  • Compassion and nurturing attitude
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and adapt to changing situations
  • Take initiative and work independently or as a team

EXPERIENCED GROOMER

We are looking for an experienced groomer to join our Dogwood Team and has a passion for grooming and creativity.

About The Job

Dogwood Lodge Pet Retreat is currently seeking 1 full time groomer with a minimum of 1 year experience to join our team. The successful applicant must be punctual, hard working with a calming attitude to deal with any size and breed of dog and cats.

Proof of past grooming experience required (a portfolio would be an asset)

  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for our pets and clients
  • Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our dogs
  • General housekeeping duties; cleanliness and disinfecting the grooming room
  • Willingness to keep up to date in the grooming industry
  • Ability to work either on your own or in a team environment
  • Be able to work under pressure in a fast paced and demanding environment
  • Be courteous to clients at all times
